Living on a street for 35 years is something to celebrate. Our practice Ash Sakula Architects has only been on the street for 6 months and already we are closer to the people the rhythms and textures of life there.
For the 2017 London Festival of Architecture we got some help from sixty children to explore how front doors could become more of an event and like the neighbours we reached out into the street. It was a thing to visit and revisit until it was gone… like the Caravanserai it was just a memory of something wild and strange in the city.
