On a rainy Saturday afternoon we brought our torches and old cereal boxes at Caravanserai to join a lighting workshop by the design duo of ‘Light Follows Behaviour’ and create our personalised lanterns.
The technique to make a personalised lantern is pretty simple; we painted our cereal boxes in black, drew our facial silhouette and then cut it and place a torch inside the box. This collective workshop showed us how we can use light in a different way and be creative, even by reusing everyday objects such as an old cereal box.
However this lighting workshop was more than just an opportunity to try out our craft skills, as the participants had the chance to work together, engage into a collective activity and have fun. That’s what Caravanserai is all about!
