Following an intensive summer on site, Flitched Yard was completed in November thanks to our 53 volunteers! This project was a fantastic opportunity for young architecture and structural engineering enthusiasts, who developed skills through contributing to the building and designing of the shelter. The winners of the design competition Tina Patel and Roberto Mirabella joined forces with many like minded upcycling enthusiasts to develop and construct using only recycled and donated materials.
In 2013 Flitched Yard has been transformed into a workshop, art gallery and a hospitality space, but there is no rest for the wicked! An exciting future is on the horizon as we prepare for more timber workshops, social art studios, theatre productions, steel pan lessons and drumming lessons.
